FAQ

  • When is the best time to go on safari?
The best time of year to view wildlife is June - October!
  • Should I do safari in Kenya or Tanzania?
Maasai Mara and Serengeti are both great options for abundant wildlife sightings and breathtaking landscapes. Beyond these two, each country has several national parks with diverse offerings so your itinerary could involve you doing safari in both countries. The best choice will depend on what you're looking for out of your vacation as a whole.
  • Do I need to learn Swahili before I visit?
Many people in East African countries speak at least 3 three languages - one from their tribe or region, Swahili, and English. And English is more widely spoken in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda than Tanzania but you'll still have an amazing time and be guided by English-speaking guides. Depend on them for translation with the people because they ARE the culture. Even if a person speaks little to no English you can still find a connection with them.
  • Can I go on safari solo?
Yes you may! Anything is possible when planning an African safari and you'll never truly be alone from your driver to new friends and welcoming staff at your accommodations. The only downside to going solo is taking on the full cost, but on my first safari I went solo to Amboseli National Park in Kenya and loved having the space to move as I pleased. It was 100% worth it!
  • Do I have to go on safari if I'm visiting Africa?
There are so many activities that can enrich your vacation experience in Africa like city tours, history, beaches, giving back, nightlife, and more. Safari is an amazing experience if you're interested in nature and wildlife, but don't feel bad if it's not your style or in your budget.

  • Am I able to make changes to my itinerary?
Yes, but be mindful that any changes could incur fees. And the potential increase or decrease in the cost of the trip overall depends on what you're referring to within your customized itinerary. For example, if the deposit has already been made to reserve your safari lodge you may not be able to get it back if you would like to switch to a new one. If your reservations are made and you're nearing your travel dates please reach out to archeradvs@gmail.com as soon as possible!
